The NHS Big Tea fundraiser will say thank you to NHS heroes this July

The NHS is encouraging people to join the #NHSBigTea on the 5th of July, which is also the health service’s birthday. The event has been created to help raise money for the incredible people in our NHS who have worked hard to get everyone through the pandemic.

People are being encouraged to host their own event, either virtually or in person, with friends, family and work colleagues. It’s been designed to offer a chance to reflect and say thank you for everything that staff and volunteers have done and continue to do.

Why get involved?

If people can’t host their own event, they can still show their support by taking 5 minutes to enjoy a tea break. Funds raised through Big Tea events will allow NHS services to continue to go above and beyond and improve the wellbeing of staff and patients alike.

Ellie Orton, CEO of NHS Charities Together, the organisation behind the NHS Big Tea, said: “Many of us have a lot to be grateful to NHS staff and volunteers for following the year we have had.

“They have been at the forefront of the response to one of the biggest challenges our country has ever faced. NHS Big Tea is a chance to show our support for them by joining a national outpouring of thanks this July.”

While Nadiya added: “The NHS Big Tea is the perfect opportunity for us to raise money to support NHS staff as they keep battling for us.”
